Privacy Policy
1. What textMyAgent is
textMyAgent is a text-message assistant that watches your email inboxes and manages your calendar. It does two things: it monitors connected email accounts and texts you when something matters, and it adds, moves, queries, and clears calendar events through text. You interact with it entirely through SMS or iMessage. There is no app, dashboard, or web account.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of textMyAgent.
3. Information we collect
a. Account information. Your name, mobile phone number, and email address, collected when you sign up by texting our number.
b. Messages you send us. The text messages you send to your agent. We use these to operate the service and respond to you.
c. Connected-account data (only with your explicit OAuth consent). When you connect an email or calendar account, we access only what we need to perform the two functions of the service:
- Email (Gmail / Outlook / Microsoft 365). We read incoming messages to determine what to surface to you. We can send messages, save drafts, and mark messages read when you direct us to. We do not delete email, and we do not store your email contents in our database beyond the working memory needed to respond to you.
- Calendar (Google Calendar / Microsoft 365 / Outlook / Apple). We read your calendar to answer your questions about it, and we add, move, and clear events when you tell us to.
You can disconnect any account at any time, which revokes the access token and removes synced data.
d. Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; Stripe handles payment data under its own terms.
e. Technical/usage data. Operational logs to run and secure the service. We do not write the contents of your email messages to our logs.
4. How we use your information
We use your information solely to provide the service for you:
- Reading and triaging your inbox to surface what matters to you.
- Sending messages and saving drafts only when you direct — every outbound message to a third party is shown to you and confirmed first.
- Adding, moving, and clearing calendar events when you ask.
- Billing, support, security, and legal compliance.
We do not use your Google, Microsoft, or Apple data, or your message content, for advertising. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models.
5. How we share information
- Service providers (processors) acting on our behalf: AWS (hosting, storage), Twilio and Sendblue (message delivery), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI reasoning), and the calendar/email providers you connect (Google, Microsoft, Apple). These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Legal/safety. When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We never sell your personal information and never share it for others' advertising or marketing.
6. Google API Limited Use disclosure
textMyAgent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide and improve user-facing features of textMyAgent.
- We do not transfer Google user data except as necessary to provide or improve those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger/acquisition with appropriate protections.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data except: with your explicit consent (e.g., for support you request), where necessary for security or to comply with law, or where the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
7. AI processing
Reasoning is performed by Claude via the Anthropic API. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through its API. Your connected-account data is processed only to serve you.
8. Data retention and deletion
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Connected-account content is read on demand and not retained beyond the working memory needed to respond to you. When you disconnect an account, we revoke the access token and delete data synced from it. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data (subject to limited legal/operational retention).
9. Security
- Encryption in transit: TLS on all connections. Credentials never travel over SMS/iMessage.
- Encryption at rest: access tokens, refresh tokens, and any cached data are AES-256-GCM encrypted; our database is encrypted at rest.
- OAuth-based connection: we never see or store your email or calendar password. You authorize access through your provider; you can revoke it at any time.
- Secrets management: credentials are stored in a managed secrets vault, never in source code, configuration files, or logs.
- Least privilege: one user per account; your data is isolated and accessible only to you.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
10. Your rights and choices
- Access/export: text "export my data" to receive everything we store about you.
- Delete: text "delete my data" for a two-step confirmed deletion.
- Disconnect: disconnect any email or calendar account to revoke access and remove synced data.
- Opt out of SMS: text STOP at any time for an immediate, permanent opt-out of messages.
- Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CCPA, EU/UK/GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. Contact privacy@textmyagent.app to exercise these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
11. Children
textMyAgent is not directed to children under 18 and is not intended for their use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. International users
We operate in the United States; by using textMyAgent you understand your information is processed in the U.S. We apply the protections described here regardless of where you are.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; we will post the new effective date here and, for material changes, notify you by text or email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
